To begin with, I immediately knew that I wanted to do a moving image piece, since it's the area where I feel the strongest and most comfortable in, as well as more passionate about. It was just a matter of choosing out of the 14 briefs we were given for which ones I wanted. Out of these I managed to settle on a top 3 which were a Music Video, Film Trailer or a Short Film and then decided to come up with a few rough ideas around each one to help me decide which might be the best to follow.
- For a Music Video, I knew it would have to be a song that I knew well and that I also enjoyed enough too. It would include using lots of relevant elements to the song as well as having a potential storyline within the video.
- For a Film Trailer, I thought it'd most likely end up being within the horror genre and would involve characters around our age.
- And for a Short Film, it would most likely be within the horror genre, similar to the Film Trailer idea, and would include paranormal elements.
After lots of consideration, I eventually decided on doing a...

In the end I chose to do a short film because I thought that it would generally be the most interesting brief to do because of the great potential it has, if done well. Compared to my other years' productions, I also feel as though this will be a nice challenge since it is something I've never done before and we will now need to fit a full plotline into the five minutes we've been given. I really wanted to give this brief a good try and aim to create the best work I can and I'm very determined to do so. When it came to choosing which ancillary tasks I wanted to do, following the short film, it was relatively easy to choose since I was certain that a radio trailer wouldn't be the best due to the complications that came with it. This left me with a poster and film magazine review page for our production. With these, I think it'll also be a chance for me to try something new and expand my experience and skills into an area that i'm quite unfamiliar with.
